How can I improve my website?

A website is a fantastic way to promote your business or your agenda. We've put together five tips to help you get a popular website!

A magnet that attracts people– I have so few visitors, an outdated website, and I don’t know where to go from here… What should I do to get a fantastic looking website? you might be wondering.
A website is a fantastic way to promote your business or agenda, but engaging people to visit your site and making it stand out requires knowledge, skills and time you may not have. That’s why we’ve put together five tips to help you get a popular website.

1. Graphic design

It is said that you only have one shot at making a good first impression. This is also true online, and that first impression is always visual. And if your visitors only go straight to your website with a quick visit, you’ll end up further down the search results on Google, for example. (Help me, it’s not just…) It’s a good start with a good theme, fonts and style, but an attractive logo and great illustrations will support your message or product. We recommend that you always have a plan for what you want to achieve with your website, and a graphic designer can help you with advice on which visual elements you should use to reach your target audience. (By the way, it’s great that you came to our website – because we can help you with graphic design!)

2. Text content

What can you write about that will fit in alongside your products and services? A well-written blog with regular updates is one of the best additions to your website. News/blog is an arena where you can repeat your message, but not least give visitors a reason to come again and again and again and again. Why not write about your great customers, tips and information that relate to your area of expertise, or how about a fact page with frequently asked questions? (Now it’s time for a funny comment, but I can’t think of anything right now…) If you’re not so good at writing yourself, why not hire someone to create content for you? Perhaps some friends, colleagues or customers know someone who might be suitable to write content for your website.

3. Video and animations

If a picture is worth a thousand words – then a few seconds of high quality video will be worth 2,000 or even 10,000 words. But beware, the worst thing you can do is create a video that’s bad. After all, you don’t want 10,000 words in a negative direction. A professionally crafted video reflects how you perform your services or take care of your product. Whether the video is about products, a customer talking, or simply presenting a topic with empathy, the video will engage visitors to stay on your website.

4. Ability to share content on the website

Now that you have lots of engaged visitors, of course you want them to tell others about your website. Don’t forget to offer social sharing buttons that will encourage people to share the site on Facebook, Twitter, etc. (We’d love it if you shared this article by the way!) And while you’re at it, you can also create profiles for your business too – that is, if you have the time to follow up. There’s nothing worse than an inactive social media page. If you don’t have the time to respond to enquiries, this will send negative signals to your customers.

We’re in a new age where it’s essential to use different forms of online marketing. This is a big topic that requires both time and knowledge – but less money than traditional marketing. There’s also the opportunity to see exactly what’s working and what’s a complete waste of money. If you’re not quite up to speed in this field and don’t have the time to familiarize yourself with the subject, we recommend that you ask for help. Search engine optimization (SEO), advertising via Google or Facebook, offers great opportunities to take your website to the next level!
