What should a website contain?

Are there any minimum requirements for what a website must contain?

Basically, you can have as much or as little as you want on your website. In fact, you can have a completely blank website if you only want to have an email address associated with the domain. But most likely, you’re here to find answers to what is the recommended minimum content on the website, preferably with a company behind it. As a minimum, the website should have a name and contact information. Otherwise, the following can be recommended:

  • Logo
  • Clear menu
  • Contact information
  • An overview of what you offer
  • A text about who you are / the company is
  • Favicon (small icon that appears at the top of the bar/tab in the browser), often part of the logo.

In addition, the website should be universally designedto ensure good usability and predictability for everyone. Read more about what a website should look like.
