What is HTTPS?
HTTPS is a protocol used to ensure that content sent over the internet is encrypted to prevent the content from being altered or stolen before it reaches the recipient.
Why is HTTPS relevant?
One year ago, Google Chrome began marking all non-HTTPS pages that have input fields for passwords and card information as “Insecure” pages. This marked their first step towards the goal of a secure internet, where all information sent over the web should be encrypted. Phase two was implemented in October last year and involved labeling all pages without encryption, and with any kind of input fields, as insecure pages. Phase three involves marking all pages without HTTPS as insecure and is about to be implemented(Update 22.02: The time for this has now been set and the change will be implemented in July 2018):
